The intentions of our Curriculum are as follows:
We recognise that pupils who attend Bailey Street Alternative Provision Academy exhibit a wide range of both emotional and educational needs, which by their very nature can impinge negatively upon their progress.
The aim is always to provide all pupils no matter of their status and SEND needs the highest quality provision and access to the curriculum. The opportunity to study at Bailey Street Alternative Provision Academy also offers them the chance for ‘a fresh start’. We will provide a curriculum which is enriched by a range of planned activities and experiences to enhance learning and personal development so that all young people become:

Our curriculum therefore, needs to be flexible, inclusive and offer continuity, coherence and progression. It must motivate and provide challenge for all young people whatever their ability and promote achievement for all so ‘we make a difference’.
It is important that schools referring pupils to Bailey Street Alternative Provision Academy support the curriculum offer and where appropriate, work with us to ensure smooth reintegration and transition back to their home setting or into post 16 education.
