The Mission

To complement the school’s academic programmes by providing opportunities for students to enhance their employability and overall value to the community, and through its activities, facilitate students in the development of career employability skills.

NCFE Employability

At Bailey Street Alternative Provision, we aim to support our student not only during their school/ academic life, but also provide them the tools be successful within society when the leave the school. NCFE Employability provides students with clear experiences to develop social and personal skills that are crucial for when students enter the world of work. The course includes valuable skills such as CV Writing, completing Job applications and Interview skills. As a school, we aim to promote a service, which enables individuals to explore a range of careers and employability options and make informed career decisions. Employability also enables individuals to understand the skills and competencies they have to offer employers and how to market these appropriately in the job application process.

Assessment Framework

Employability will be accessible for all students that attend Bailey Street Alternative Provision. Students that are with the school for a short period, will access the level one award; however, students who are at Bailey Street for a longer period, will work towards level two certificate. The structure of the course will be as shown below:

Unit of course/ title of course
Unit 1 – Understanding Mindset ( Mandatory)
Unit 31 – Job Interview skills.
Unit 32 – Job Application skills.
Unit 33 – Writing a CV.
